Del Rey is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope by releasing a new short story collection called Star Wars: From A Certain Point Of View. The anthology will consist of 40 stories written by 40 authors, each featuring a background character from A New Hope. According to

“Each will be told from the perspective of background characters of A New Hope — from X-wing pilots who helped Luke destroy the Death Star to the stormtroopers who never quite could find the droids they were looking for. There’s never been a Star Wars book like it!”

The best part about From A Certain Point Of View is that all of the proceeds will go to First Book, “a leading nonprofit that provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to educators and organizations serving children in need”. When it comes to the 40 authors that submitted short stories for the anthology, there are many familiar names, such as Chuck Wendig, Gary Whitta, and Christie Golden to name a few. A full list can be found below. I’m looking forward to this book, because I always enjoy short stories involving some of my favorite overlooked Star Wars characters. Maybe we’ll finally get Boshek’s backstory!  Star Wars: From A Certain Point Of View is due to drop on October 3rd, 2017. The announced authors so far are
