Journalist Eric Webber has taken to Twitter this morning and is reporting that Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy in person had confirmed that the rumored Boba Fett Spin-Off film project has been canceled.
Kathleen Kennedy just confirmed to me Boba Fett movie is 100% dead, 100% focusing on THE MANDALORIAN #StarWars

The corroborates the reporting several months ago from Collider about several projects being canceled after the dismal performance of Solo: A Star Wars Story. A Boba Fett film has always been in contention amongst fans of Star Wars. A character with little to no background being given a film of his own, front and center was always seen as a gamble with fans. Moreover, the entire pipeline of this project has been fraught with drama with the firing of its first rumored Director Josh Trank.
However for fans of Mandalorians, fret not as we will have Jon Favreau’s new live-action series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian. This new series will be the perfect platform to elevate this beloved culture into the canon of the Star Wars saga. As for the rumored Obi-Wan spin-off film, the jury is still out on that, and perhaps we should hear something quickly as the filming of Star Wars: Episode IX begins to wrap in the coming months.
