An exclusive story broke early this morning from FlickeringMyth.com that Actor Spencer Wilding will be playing the iconic role of Darth Vader in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. From their sources they pit the 6’7 Actor and his wealth of costume acting experience in the role from their sources.

Our sources are telling us that in fact British actor Spencer Wilding has been cast to play the body of Darth Vader in Rogue One.

Of course the incredible voice will still be coming from James Earl Jones as Wilding would play a role similar to David Prowse from the original trilogy. There have been lots of rumors floating about this role from WWE’s Shamus to even Hayden Christensen. Whether or not this pans out has yet to be seen until we get an official confirmation from Lucasfilm. My guess is we will not hear anything about our favorite Dark Lord of the Sith, until Disney is ready to reveal him in a later trailer. Perhaps during Star Wars Celebration in London this year.

453197_1.1Spencer Wilding, does look to have the chops when it comes to playing the role. A very muscular fellow and former kick boxing champion, with lots of credits in his portfolio with roles from Guardians of the Galaxy, Game of Thrones and on and on. Put against some rumor s that WWE’s Shamus was up for the role and Wilding wins in just plain acting experience alone.

Regardless, it’s nice to have someone fit the suit with the right stature as I really believe Hayden Christensen really didn’t fit the mold. That’s not a terrible thing of course as with lights and camera tricks they can make Tom Cruise look taller than all his female cast members. Which he doesn’t and yet it’s all seamless.

Until we get official word, it’s great to have Wilding in the Star Wars Galaxy.
